I gave my £89 Ikea Malm dressing table a modern makeover using a £3 B&Q buy

IF money grew on trees, we would've forked out on our dream dressing table a long time ago - but unfortunately, they can cost a small fortune.

But one savvy woman has revealed how you can achieve designer-looking furniture on a budget by adapting a basic dressing table from Ikea using a £3 B&Q buy.

In the clip posted to TikTok, the woman, known only as @cblovesinteriors, explains how she spruced up an £89 Malm dressing table from the Swedish store to give it a stunning modern look.

And using a simple trick, she ended up with an Insta-worthy piece of bespoke furniture.

The DIY fan begins by explaining that she purchased Pine D-Shape moulding from B&Q, which costs just £3.51, to glue onto the dressing table drawer.

After measuring and cutting the finishing trims to size, she then begins gluing them down to create a stylish, textured surface.

Next, she sands the wood to create a smooth edge, before painting the pine white.

The DIY fan finishes the look by applying chic gold handles to the drawer to complement the other features in her bedroom.

And it's little surprise the video was quick to go viral, with the dressing table looking almost unrecognisable.

The clip has since racked up over 96k views and been flooded with comments from very impressed social media users - with many eager to commend the DIY guru's handiwork.
